I worked
Hubba Hubba Revue for the first time last night. The very important task of back stage security was my duty the whole night and was compensated with a drink ticket. My post was to stand right under the day-glow “FOOD” sign. At the end of the night I did not have an appetite despite the fact that I ate early diner at 4ish. Usually the smell of food makes me so hungry but combined with an evening of burlesque made the combination a bit disturbing. When did they take out the computers at the DNA? When did the Bay Area burlesque scene take off?
Yesterday I interviewed at
St. Helena Hospital. I was scheduled for two interviews in different hospital support departments. First, I stopped by the Human Resources Office and was lead to the Materials Management Dept. The interview went well and I believe I could have made the short list of candidates. After the first interview I went back into the HR to tell them I would be back later for my second interview. I got into
kinetosis kar when I herd “GLENN! GLENN!” as I was backing out of the parking space. It was another person from HR that I had spoken to the other day about other jobs at the hospital that I was better suited for. The next thing I know, we are back in her office and I am doing a group interview with 3 people from HR, she then takes me to meet one of the house supervisors. I get the thumbs up from everyone I interview with, cancel my second scheduled interview, cancel my aplication to the fist interview, giver her all my documents, certificates and credentials to photocopy and she said could have an offer in writing by Monday!

Door to door the drive is less than 25 miles of vineyards, redwood stands and tight blind curves. It’s the fist acute care facility that has given me a chance so I’m going to put up with the 50 min commute. I have not worked since mid June, moving and getting set up in Santa Rosa used up lots of savings, I have to start working now!
